This week, several members of our Apollo team gathered at Greyhope Bay for our second beach clean event. With a shared passion for environmental conservation, we joined together to help make a positive impact on our local coastal area.
The Beach Clean
With gloves on and bags ready, the Apollo team set out to tackle the litter that had unfortunately found its way onto Greyhope Bay’s beautiful shoreline. We picked up various forms of rubbish left behind by visitors and the tide. Plastic bottles, cans, discarded wrappers, baby wipes, fishing nets, and other debris were among the most common items we found. A reminder of the impact of our actions on the environment and the importance of coming together to protect our natural spaces.
Café, Dolphin Spotting, and Community Engagement
After the beach clean, we made our way to the café with its beautiful panoramic views of the coast, which provided the perfect setting to listen to Greyhope Bay talk about their future plans and how Apollo can support them.
As an added bonus, we managed to briefly spot some dolphins and finches. Thanks to its strategic location, it offers one of the best spots in the UK to observe bottlenose dolphins in their natural habitat.
