Apollo is proud to deliver the Pembrokeshire Energy Skills 2050 scoping study, funded by The Crown Estate Supply Chain Accelerator Fund. The project is commissioned by Pembrokeshire College, with partners Pembrokeshire County Council and the Southwest Wales Regional Learning and Skills Partnership.

The study will examine the skills and training required to prepare Pembrokeshire for the future of clean energy, supporting Wales’ journey to net zero.

As one of the UK’s leading energy regions, Pembrokeshire already plays a critical role in national supply. With new projects emerging in Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW), Hydrogen, Industrial Decarbonisation, and Marine Energy, there is a need to ensure a skilled local workforce is ready to deliver these opportunities.

Apollo, supported by Celtic Sea Power and Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum, will assess current workforce capabilities, forecast future needs, and propose training pathways that give local people access to high-quality jobs in the energy transition.

Dr Barry Walters, Principal of Pembrokeshire College, said:

“Pembrokeshire College is delighted to be working with Apollo to obtain a greater understanding of the skills needs for the energy sector over the next 25 years. It is critical that we, along with other key stakeholders in the region, provide the very best opportunities for people to gain the necessary skills and support them to gain excellent jobs.”

The Pembrokeshire Energy Skills 2050 study will help secure energy jobs for future generations, build regional expertise, and support Wales’ clean energy ambitions.
