Apollo will welcome students and early career professionals to its Aberdeen office on Thursday 24 September for an introduction to designing offshore oil and gas production and processing facilities.
Organised by the Energy Institute Aberdeen, Highlands & Islands Young Professionals Network, Offshore Oil & Gas Design 101 will combine engineering fundamentals with practical activities.
Attendees will take part in three hands-on workshops covering subsea, structures and topsides. Each session will begin with a short introduction to the design fundamentals before moving into a practical activity.
The workshops will be led by:
Catherine Gourlay, Pipelines & Bundles Engineering Manager at Subsea7
Graeme Leslie, Associate Director of Oil and Gas at Apollo
Kevin Anderson, Consultant Structural Engineer at Apollo
No previous design knowledge is required. The event is designed to give students and those at the start of their careers a practical introduction to the different engineering disciplines involved in offshore facility design.
There will also be time to meet other attendees and industry professionals over refreshments after the workshops.
Thank you to Sneha Paul, Edmund Lau, and Ashleigh Bruce for organising the event.
