At Apollo, we believe in recognising and celebrating the achievements of our team members as they progress in their careers. In this blog post, we catch up with Chiara Massone, one of our newly promoted managers, to learn about her journey within the company.

Starting as a Business Support Administrator in 2022, Chiara has embraced opportunities for growth and has been empowered to bring her unique skills and perspectives to the table. Now, stepping into a new role as Office Manager, she shares her experiences, the support she’s received, and the projects that have made her time at Apollo both enjoyable and rewarding.

Congratulations on your promotion! Can you tell us about your journey within the company and how you feel about stepping into this new role?

I feel excited, proud, and grateful. I started at Apollo in 2022 as a Business Support Administrator. From the beginning, I was given the freedom to shape my role, which allowed me to bring my unique perspective and skills to the table. This experience has been incredibly empowering.

I am now looking forward to getting more involved in the operational side of the business; it’s great exposure and invaluable for my career. From day one, I have felt that there were great opportunities for me within the company, and I was over the moon when my promotion happened.

What makes you proud about working at Apollo?

Apollo cares about its people, the projects, their execution, and the quality of our services. At Apollo, you can be yourself and speak your mind. I’ve found that this open culture encourages innovation and ensures that every voice is heard, which is something I truly value.

Can you share a specific moment or project that was particularly enjoyable or rewarding during your time at Apollo?

Being involved with the administration of the INEOS Hejre Project has been a fantastic experience. This international project has allowed me to learn a lot and contribute meaningfully. It’s been a collaborative effort, and being part of a project that highlights Apollo’s proven ability to deliver results on the global stage has been rewarding.

How has Apollo supported you in your career?

I have been given numerous opportunities to learn and grow professionally and personally. I am also encouraged to pursue my interests, such as getting involved with Greyhope and Our Union Street and providing staff with small attentions that I believe make a difference.

What’s the most important thing you have learned in your career?

To be confident in my decisions and trust my instincts. Working at Apollo has taught me the importance of self-assurance and the value of believing in my capabilities. This confidence has enabled me to take on more responsibilities and make impactful contributions to our projects.

What advice would you give to others seeking a career at Apollo?

Apollo can make a massive difference in the quality of your life. The company’s commitment to flexible and hybrid working and valuing work-life balance is commendable.

As a woman and a mother, I went from feeling like a potential burden to a company to feeling empowered to the point where I believe I can achieve anything.
