The problem
A North Sea operator required the migration of their Netherlands topsides asset data from legacy integrity management software to Apollo KnowHow™, hosted in a dedicated setup, separate from existing UK systems.
This migration was essential to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and efficient management of asset information.
The background
The project was initiated to overcome the limitations of legacy systems and to leverage Apollo’s KnowHow™ platform for better data handling and operational efficiency.
It involved complex data restructuring, including the creation of new database rows and the integration of varied asset information types into the KnowHow™ system.
The process
Apollo undertook a detailed process to ensure successful migration and hosting. This included cloning relevant table rows from an existing UK database as a template for the Netherlands asset.
New configurations were developed for both PSV and non-PSV elements.
The work also included building and testing SQL scripts to automate data loading, alongside the creation of Azure-hosted app services, SQL databases, and storage areas for the KnowHow™ platform.
Rigorous testing followed, with full integration checks before deployment to production.
The solution
Apollo’s solution delivered a dedicated and secure KnowHow™ environment, designed to support efficient data access and reliable performance.
Using Azure hosting services provided scalability and resilience, enabling the client to manage their integrity data effectively while streamlining operational workflows.
The outcome
The project was delivered on schedule, with data migration and hosting completed before the end of 2022.
The system now offers enhanced data accessibility, improved management capabilities, and stronger compliance with industry regulations – helping to ensure safe, reliable offshore operations.
