Following the client contract award, Apollo was engaged to undertake the full structural engineering design of 2 platforms – 1 central platform and 1 satellite platform for a shallow-water development.
Following a short FEED, Apollo followed this through into detailed design.
The background
The central platform consisted of 6 well/ conductor slots, 6 multiphase flowlines and gas lift lines, with test manifold, a HP and a LP production manifold, whilst the satellite platform had slightly smaller but similar requirements.
The process
Apollo undertook all structural engineering and design, piping and pipe support, process engineering, instrumentation, operating philosophies and was responsible for achieving all technical safety requirements.
What did the client think?
Central to this project was delivering a fully engineered solution that was fit for purpose and simplistic to ensure all fabrication and installation costs were minimized. Thinking ahead, our client was keen to ensure that this design was suitable for use on other potential developments within their proposed pipeline and so Apollo ensured that a range of requirements were taken into account. The client was pleased this design could then be used on other developments, proving cost-efficient.
And for all you engineers who just want the facts:
The Problem
- The client required structural engineering through FEED and detailed design on a jacket
The Solution
- We were able to undertake all structural engineering and design, piping and pipe support, process engineering, instrumentation, operating philosophies and be responsible for achieving all technical safety requirements
The Outcome
- We delivered to the client a fully engineered solution that provided a cost-effective solution that could be utilised in other projects
