On 22 September, Apollo turned 16. We marked the occasion at Aberdeen Art Gallery, where clients and our team joined us for a relaxed celebration.
Apollo began in Aberdeen in 2010. The first plans were discussed around kitchen and bar tables, with a clear idea of the business they wanted to build: an independent engineering company that would solve clients’ problems and provide clear answers, where good people could enjoy their work, take on responsibility and build lasting careers.
As Apollo’s founder, Ryan Menzies, puts it:
“I wanted Apollo to be somewhere good people could do good work, enjoy it and build a career.”
In its first full year, Apollo had a team of four.
Today, Apollo employs more than 150 people across six UK offices and one in Milan.
Looking back through the photo archive was a reminder of how much has changed over those 16 years. We’ve brought together some of the people and moments from Apollo’s early days through to the present in the video below.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Aberdeen Art Gallery, and to the clients and team members, past and present, who have played a part in Apollo over the past 16 years.
A lot has changed since 2010. Our purpose remains the same: solving the engineering problems that matter while creating opportunities for our people.
